AILIN KIA ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information our mobile app and website (ailinkia.com) collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. By using our services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the data needed to run the app. Specifically:

• Account data: first name, last name, email address, phone number, and Instagram handle. Used to create and authenticate your account (via a secure Bearer token) and to identify your account.
• Precise location (GPS coordinates): collected only in the foreground, only when you open a lesson or video. We use it to verify your region/country to enforce copyright and content-licensing rules for region-restricted lessons. Your coordinates and detected region are sent to our own backend servers to confirm eligibility and to flag out-of-region viewing. We do not collect location in the background.
• Payment confirmation image: when you subscribe, you upload a payment slip image, which is sent to our servers for manual review of your payment.
• Content / usage data: which lessons you have viewed (stored locally on your device) and your subscription status.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
• To verify your region/country so we can comply with copyright and content-licensing rules for region-restricted lessons.
• To review and confirm payments you submit.
• To provide lesson/video access and track your subscription status and viewing progress.
• To communicate with you about your account and updates.
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. What We Do NOT Do

• We do not collect location in the background — only in the foreground when you open a lesson/video.
• We do not use advertising and do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not sell or rent your personal data.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate our app and website (for example, hosting/storage), or where required by law. These providers process data only on our behalf.

6. Data Retention

We keep each type of data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, then delete or anonymize it. Retention periods by data type:

• Account data (name, email, phone, Instagram handle): retained while your account is active. When you request account deletion, it is deleted within 30 days. The app provides in-app account deletion.
• Location data: coordinates are used transiently to perform the region check. The temporary copy cached on your device expires automatically within 24 hours and is refreshed when needed. We do not store your coordinates or region flags long-term on our servers; they are used only for the real-time eligibility check and are not retained afterward.
• Payment slip images: retained for 90 days for review and records, then deleted.
• Locally stored data (viewing status, cached location): removed when you log out, delete your account, or uninstall the app.

7. Data Security

All data is transmitted between the app and our servers over encrypted HTTPS connections. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You can access, correct, or delete your personal data:

• Delete your account in-app: use the in-app account-deletion option to permanently delete your account and associated personal data (subject to the retention periods above).

9. Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
